PiP (Picture in Picture) issue: "This webpage was reloaded because a problem occurred."

recently after upgrading to macOS Sequoia on my iMac, when trying to use the new PiP feature on safari, suddenly after simply going back into the web page on Safari while PiP is still open, I get the error "This webpage was reloaded because a problem occurred." when it should just close the PiP window. this doesn't happen on my MacBook Air M1 though. does anyone else get this error and is there a known fix? thank you!!
