Sonoma - files getting corrupted in finder?
Since I updated to Sonoma from Monterey, my mac hard drive/icloud drive have been having issues with corrupted files. Most of my files were invisible, so I was having to put them into folders and then move them out of folders to get them to show up again. Also, finder wouldn't let me delete any folders at all, saying that there were items that couldn't be found (error code -43), but if I went into those folders, I could delete all the files separately, it just wouldn't let me delete the folders themselves for some reason. All of that on top of my Logic projects just crashing and getting "project corrupted" messages when I try to reopen them from the auto-saved version. The version that'll open will either be an earlier version of the project or an entirely blank project (even though the new audio files are still in the project folder). I ran the apple diagnostic on my hardware and there were no issues found. I'm reluctant to update to sequoia because of third-party plugin compatibility issues, but I'm not even sure that'll help since updating from Monterey to Sonoma made everything worse. For reference, I store most of my files in icloud and work out of there. I prefer working out of icloud because I'm so petrified of actually losing my projects (my external SSD got corrupted too and files disappeared but iCloud saved me). However, I've also tried moving my Logic projects to my internal hard drive directly and they will still crash/get corrupted. The crashing was happening when I was on Monterey too, and the error messages always had some "code 11" error and cited Melodyne ARA as the culprit crashing a processing thread, but the project files actually getting corrupted and disappearing from projects is new on Sonoma. I can't pick and choose which files are downloaded to my macbook and which are kept in the cloud, so I can't even tell if the disappearing files are in the cloud or on my laptop either. Sorry if this is confusing, there are so many issues happening at once that it's hard for my brain to keep up. Any thoughts on what I should do next? I haven't been able to do any work in days because of all these technical issues.3
