My crucial x9pro ssd is not showing up anywhere!! on my mac

My ssd is not showing any where, when going into finder, disk utility and even running the command diskutil list in terminal it just shows my \] until I pull out the drive then my disks show in the terminal. The process fsck\_exfat is at the top of cpu with 99.3% cpu and i've tried quitting it but still no drive is showing up. I've spend about 7hrs trying to find a fix, watching tutorials, reading articles and nothing works. I've restarted my mac about 11 times and it feels like i've tried everything and nothing works. It's a 2tb drive from crucial formatted in exfat and until now has worked perfectly and I use it all the time. I'm not sure if i've disconnected it improperly before which could be the issue but if somehow someone has an answer to this, I really need the help (Macbook pro m2 chip)
