Mini M4 insists on using WiFi for SMB shares

So on my new Mac Mini M4 I got a weird behavior that I never experienced on any other mac that I used before. Im connected via Ethernet and WiFi. When I connect my SMB shares they all default to using the WiFi. This also happens when I disable WiFi, connect the SMB shares when I’m only connected via Ethernet and re-enable WiFi again. The Mac insists on using WiFi - only if WiFi is disabled. Of course Ethernet is on top of every other network-device in the order in settings.
