M1 MacBook Air, Sonoma 14.7.2, touch id while on Mullvad VPN

I've started to notice an issue where the touch id button on my M1 Air is glitchy when I have my Mullvad VPN running. Specifically using touch id with pwd management in Safari and Chrome. So it prompts me for touch id to fill in a saved pwd but touching the touch id button does nothing. I touch it like normal but it doesn't work until the 5th or 10th try, maybe not at all. When I turn off VPN it seems to work fine again. Anyone else experience this? M1 Air, Sonoma 14.7.2, Mullvad v2024.8. I'm also running Malwarebytes and Clean My Mac. But I only seem to have the issue when VPN is on. TIA.
