Display advice

I just went from a 2019 27" iMac to the MacMini M4 32/1TB machine. I have a Samsung 32 inch 4k monitor. needless to say coming from retina display to the Samsung is a disappointment. I went with a larger display because I'd like the real estate so I can increase the text size and be able to read it without strain...I am old... but I see that it decreases the refresh rate to 30 despite the Samsung being a 60 refresh rate unit .. I also notice that the images aren't as clear ( I have to STOP comparing to retina display in my mind) I have seen where people are using Better Display to increase the quality of their displays.....if you have BD...what settings do you use? Thanks..
