"Device waiting time has expired"

Hii! I got a noob doubt. Im trying to use my ipad (ipad OS 15.7) as second screen of my macbook air m3 (brand new, with Sonoma) It's very rare because I can share my ipad screen to my mac, but this error message pops up every time I try to do it the other way round... Any ideas?
