Best practice for user management

Hi everyone, I’m about to have a new Macbook Air soon but wondering how many people setup the MacOS with a reserved “admin” user. For example, if just two people in the household to share the Macbook, is it a best practice to setup and reserve a Admin user for managing any MacOS updates / changes and then two separate unique user profiles for the two people. Any idea?
