Accidentally set computer into recovery mode. Is there a way to go back to the log in screen without losing data?

Upon restarting the computer (even after already out in this mode) it goes to the OS X Utilities screen. All I want to do is go back to the screen where you input the passwords at without losing anything on the computer.
