The Rough part-time job market in Kochi(Ekm)
This is coming from an outsider with absolute 0 contacts. This post gets irrelevant and wouldn’t make sense if you’re free/student with just an hour or two of classes. For everyone else this could relate. As a full time student in kochi, finding a job is nothing less than a headache. Indeed is full of delulu recruits who thinks 8 hours is part time and the rest thinking 4-5k per month for 4-5 hours of actual work is somehow justified. There’s a new breed of “recruiters” ive noticed while jobhunting on OLX, these seem like homemakers trying to make a quick buck in commissions being a median for recruitment companies, they take anywhere between 500-1000 as upfront payment or/and 1-2k from your initial salary (sometimes as recurring). I have never understood the whole recruitment agency thing in kochi especially since some companies and shops and petrol bunks only hire through them. Pinne nammade ODC/ catering works🙂. Work now, get paid next month 🛐 The only reasonable paying part time job if you’re cochin is grocery delivery apps. Your instamart, blinkit, zepto etc. But this only makes sense if you have a 60+ mileage old motorcyle or an EV. If you can deal with being looked down upon and being treated unfairly by security staff and customers then this is the only part time job that would make sense if youre a full-time student. Allathe valla jolikal ndel comment below…(or dm 😔) P.S This is a rant and an eyeopener for anyone outside of cochin who thinks they can have a full time degree and handle all their expenses at the same time4
