people who worked in banglore and kochi which one worked best for you
I’ve worked in Infopark, Kochi for a year and then spent another year working in Trivandrum. Now that I’m looking for a new job, I’m a bit confused about where to go next. I’m from Calicut, so accessibility and overall lifestyle are important factors in my decision. My experience in Kochi was quite positive. The city had a good vibe, and I made some great friends. The food was affordable and tasty, which was a big plus. Traffic wasn’t a major issue for me since I mostly commuted by bike and could get around quickly. People were generally friendly and welcoming, which made my time there even better. Trivandrum, on the other hand, was a different experience. The biggest downside for me was the long and exhausting travel—getting home to Calicut took around 10-12 hours, and train tickets weren’t always available. KSRTC bus rides for such long hours were a nightmare. I also didn’t enjoy the food as much and often found it difficult to find something that suited my taste. On a personal level, I encountered a lot of unpleasant people, which left me with a not-so-great impression of the city (no offense, just my experience). That said, the roads were well-maintained, and there were plenty of places to explore, though I never really got around to visiting them. Overall, I’ve decided that I don’t want to move back there. Now, I’m considering Bangalore vs. Kochi. Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of India, so I expect better career opportunities there. I also have good friends in the city and would love to build more professional and personal connections. However, I do have some concerns—mainly the traffic, high cost of living, and travel to Kerala. I’ve never lived in a city this big, so I’m not sure how much of an adjustment it would be. Another factor is food—how expensive is eating out? Is cooking a better option? On the other hand, Kochi feels like the safer, more familiar option. I already know the city well and enjoyed my time there. The cost of living is much lower compared to Bangalore, and traveling home to Calicut is much easier. would love to hear your thoughts!2
