How to deal with Kochi Auto Chettans- Just taking the photo of the auto helped me get the ride

I had the weirdest yet 100% satisfying encounter with a auto guy today in the city. Just taking a photo of the Auto worked out wonders for me. I had to travel to the railway station and I walked in to the nearest auto stand. There was one auto available and I asked for a ride. He straight away denied the ride saying the traffic block was very high in that route ( yes it was the peak time). I just asked him if that was a auto stand where he's parked and he confirmed. I then walked towards the auto (the driver was sitting few meters away) and took the photo of the vehicle. Suddenly the driver came running to me all infuriated and told me he cant come for the ride because of the traffic block. I told him there was an alternate route that he could take and he, even though very unhappy, asked me to get into the vehicle while cursing me (said that "ivanmaroke vannu photo eduthu angu ayakan nikkuvanu udane" - yeah I could hear it). He also turned on the meter the moment he started the vehicle and dropped me properly at the station. I'm satisfied and happy that just taking a photograph helped me get the ride and most importantly he asked only for the meter charge🤭 Please note- This works only in the stands.
