Benefits of Metro Kochi1 card?

Other than avoiding queues and the 20% discount on ticket rates, what benefits does the card have especially since I've heard it acts like more like a Axis Bank ATM card rather than just a simple and convenient metro ticket? Also is there any additional charges for the card which I have to pay other than the initial 250 rupees?
