Did I just get scammed?

One of our coconut trees in our parambu was leaning towards our neighbours roof a bit , so we had to tie it tilting it towards the opposite site. The work was done by a bunch of locals who I presume regularly do this kinda work. They quoted ₹180 per metre including materials and labour. Roughly the two trees- the leaning one and the anchor are 15-20m apart. However, post completion they calculated roughly around 50m of wire used and we had to pay around 8k. Did I just get scammed?
