What is up with Indore's water?

I'm 18M I have been living in indore since 6 months or so. The water here is cooking up (damaging for liberals)my hairs. I know it is the water only because I never had dandruff and hairs this weak.but now I feel like my hairs are becoming less denser. Not only me but lot of friends of mine have been facing this problem. Have y'all faced this problems?. If yes what could be the solution keeping that in mind that I live in a hostel .
