What is this show Silsila?

My wife has started watching this old show Silsila of Aditi shamra and Drashti Dhami ML casually started Extra marital affair with wife's best friend. Wife is shown as a devoted and loving wife. Drashti's husband is a wife beater. But he is the only one Makinf sense when trying to expose Aditi husband. Are we supposed to cheer ML and Drashti? What type of show is this?
