Relocating to Hyderabad in few months, I was wondering if it is safe for girls?

I'm going to relocate to Hyderabad soon and I was wondering if it's safe for women. How's the culture? Is it common for women to wear skirts/shorts? Or should I change my wardrobe? I heard it's hot in Hyderabad so should I purchase an AC? Any other suggestions regarding travelling? Or tips to live comfortably.
