Calling out The lack of empathy we have as a generation!
So…well went to Select CityWalk today for a rewatch of YJHD…alright so here’s what happened which makes me say this: We (me and my mother, both F)went for the 1:30 Pm show of the re-release of YJHD. We both, by an honest mistake were sitting at seats one row above ours (ours was K, and we were sitting in the L row). Two girls, came at the seats, and told us that it was their booked seats. We then realised our mistake, and were shifting to the row below us (which was our seats). While shifting the seats, my mom accidentally dropped her hot coffee on the floor of one seats, and also on her entire one leg. Her whole jeans got soiled, and since we had just bought the coffee, ofc she got burnt as well! But instead of helping my mom out or even asking if she was okay, the girls throughout the movie were commenting like how we dont have any etiquettes, like we spoiled their seats and were so mannerless! Like, we apologised for the whole mistake, which was a very generic and honest mistake! The coffee dropping as well, was an honest mistake which harmed none other than my mother, and we still received these comments. Didnt say anything to them at that time, cause my mother didnt want to spoil the movie. However, this incident raises a very serious question in my mind….where are we,as a generation heading to, in terms of emotions and empathy? Are emotions like kindness, and caring about others no longer in existence? Are we this mean, that we only care about soiled seats?4
