  • Story of lost iphone 15and how we recovered it. Good souls still exist.

So last evening I had promised my 6yr oldson I would get him his favourite fries and milkshake as he had been a good boy at school. I too was hungry and decided to order something for myself and thought to myself, ok this is going to be a nice evening. And that was shortlived, soon I received a call from my husband from his co workers phone to say that he had lost his iphone 15 at the airport (3 months old). Since he works as a pilot, he couldn't do much and had to leave for his flight shortly. Me being the panic button I am, got into an extremely anxious mode. He suggested to look up "Find My iPhone" app on his ipad which was at home to track the device. With a glimmer of hope, I logged in and saw that my phone was still active, around Porur side, about 10 kms away from my place. I tried calling his phone multiple times but no one seemed to answer it. I was determined to travel to the location of the phone, but my husband was dead against it sighting safety reasons. Over the next few minutes, I get a call from my husband's cousin who is a pilot as well, saying that he's got the contact of the person who has my husband's phone. I was stunned as to how this all happened and how he came into the picture. And this is how the story unfolded, and it's interesting to note how there were so many commonalities in this situation : A random driver picked up my husband's phone which was lying on the ground from the airport drop zone, and took it to the said Porur location. Around the same time, my husband's colleague who happens to be a retd defence personnel (let's name him K) happened to call my husband on his phone to have a chat, and the driver answered the call. K was surprised to hear a strange voice and spoke to the driver. The driver could not understand Tamil or english as he knew only malayalam and he handed over the phone to his supervisor. K somehow had some contacts in the same office and was able to speak to the supervisor gathered the details of the location of the phone. Now, K and my husband's cousin know each other too. He handed over the details to husband's cousin and that's how the details were shared to me. I immediately called up the person's number from my work phone to understand the situation and if I could go and collect the phone. He gave me the exact location to the office in Porur and I set out to collect it with my son, along with the fries and milkshake as I had promised him. We soon reached the location, the person at the front desk was courteous enough to welcome us to the office and I had to wait for a few minutes for the supervisor to show up. He came after a few minutes, apologized for the wait and handed over the phone just the way the found it. I guess we all had to thank our lucky stars that day and the driver, K, and all other people who helped us find the phone. It's so heartwarming to see good souls who are still around amongst so much evil and negativity. At the end of the day it's us who have to be careful with our belongings, luck doesn't favour us all the time. Thanks for patiently reading 😌
