Chennai Autos Rant

I'm writing this post after having been fed up with the chennai auto annas. I work at Perungudi and I live near Ambattur.I travel to thirumangalam metro by auto and then to alandur in metro and then to my office in auto. I take 2×2, 4 autos in a day. So I meet a lot of auto annas and encounter a lot of bargaining. What i learnt here in my experience is, greedy people will always ask extra even if the price is right. Initially i didn't know this and used to give extra when some annas ask extra with sympathy. I'm a very emotional person so if they ask, I'll mostly agree lol. So I kept doing this until, my friend told me that ola has lower prices than rapido. So I started using ola and auto annas sometimes ask extra but sometimes take the original money (which is way less than rapido). I myself will give extra feeling bad for them. And they accept it. When I asked them, I learnt that they do make decent profits from the actual price listed in the app. And there are some greedy annas like the one i came with today. Today I took a direct auto to home from office (27 kms). In ola it showed some 350 which is like super less. I didn't want that and i picked rapido for 450 and I got in. The anna kept asking for extra after I got in. I was on a call with someone (he could see that) but he kept asking for extra and guilt tripping me saying it was pongal tomorrow. I usually agree such stuff but today I picked the expensive one over just for the same reason that it was pongal and I didn't want to underpay any of them. I got furiated over this but the anna didn't stop yet. He kept saying we should be sensible blah blah. In the end I ended up giving him 500 cause he wouldn't shut up after coming inside my apartment and I didn't want to make a scene infront of my nosy neighbours. But i was very fed up with how greedy some people are. I'm all up for supporting dying professions but this is beyond okay. He kept saying pongal pongal and I need to buy stuff for pongal and I need money. Like don't we have pongal? Like if I'm rich enough I could've taken my luxury bmw with my driver in it to work. Why would I go in an auto? How do auto annas don't see that we are also middle class but just a little better. In all honesty, the profession can only pay so much. If they need more money, they seriously need to go to another profession instead torturing the customers. Should I stop giving extras and stop feeding thier greed?
