Which is the most fuel efficient and good driveability diesel in the market these days?

Focus on diesel has waned out because of various factors nowadays. So, which are some good diesel cars to own for economical, reliable and enjoyable ownership? Edit: not limiting to type of car, but since it has to be economical to bu (10-12L range), it has to be a small car and not a SUV costing 35L. Something like ecosport from yesteryears for example! PS: economical to own = lower buying price and low maintenance costs
