English mixed with Hindi - is this real?

I just finished Pathaan (great movie) and recently saw DHOOM 3 (another great movie) But I am wondering about the continuous mixture of Hindi and English As an English speaking American who can’t speak any Hindi, I love it Does anyone in India actually talk that way, or is this language mélange just something happens in Bollywood movies?
