Beware of the contact number given in Google Map The Leela, Bhartiya City.
I was supposed to make a booking for a team lunch in Leela's restaurant and for that I checked the number on google map for The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru. The person picked up the call and asked to pay 50% reservation charges (which would be around 120000 rupee) due to overcrowding owing to Christmas holidays. I hesitated and said that I was never asked for a booking amount anytime I have booked before. We settled at 3000 rupee and I transferred the amount to the manager's bank account (red flag). I also mentioned that the payment will be done with company's credit card, for which he assured me that they will return the reservation amount to me separately. Then I got another call in half an hour from a new person saying that they will need the entire 50% and 3000 rupee wont be sufficient. I asked to cancel the booking and he was fine with that and asked my UPI ID but then started telling me that they are not able to transfer any money using UPI IDs now. Then came the final part when I understood it was a scam. He asked me to stay in line and open my google pay and in the bank transfer option add Leela's bank account. He said that all 5 star restaurants have a special account where if we put the bank account of the hotel in the recipient list, the money would come to my account. I knew that the 3000 was lost, and registered a complain with The Leela management by getting their number from their official page. They said it will take time to take down the number from their google map location. TLDR: Do not trust the number given in Google Map for The Leela, Bhartiya City. [06009866762](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=leela+bhartiya+city+#) is the number mentioned there and it is run by scammers.1
