2 wheeler taken by the traffic police

Me and friends went out for dinner on 2 scooties. We just had one can of beer. While coming back home, the cops stopped us and asked to blow in the meter. My friend’s reading recorded at 154/100 ml of alcohol and my reading was 31/100 ml. How is it possible that we all had same amount of alcohol but the meter recorded different readings? Also, they gave the receipt and took the vehicle to the police station. He is asked to come tomorrow to take the vehicle back. Can they really take your vehicle to the police station? If yes, what can be next course of action on our part? Should we consult any lawyer?
