Tipping ka option aata hai usko nazarandaaz mat karo

Today I ordered from Swiggy Instamart (recently limited the use of such apps) out of need. The order came very late but I was okay with waiting. After delivering I said a much needed thank you and the delivery guy said rating please dijiyega which I would followed by tipping ka option aata huin usey nazarandaaz mat kariyega. I asked him again to confirm and he replied with same thing. Then I asked mtlb and he stopped and went away. I am absolutely against tipping culture but was interested in knowing if anyone else is seeing such things happening nowadays or was this an exception.
