Is being single stigmatized?

21F here. I have never been in a relationship and idt it matters a lot to me. But when I try and talk to people, they make a huge deal out of it. Is it that bad to have remained single out of choice for various reasons? I agree that I feel very lonely most of the times and I would definitely want to give dating a try, but when guys get to me know me, they get freaked out by the fact that I have never been a relationship. I feel like I am getting judged for a mere personal choice. Is it honestly bad? Edit: thanks to every single person being positive. Ig in the end all that matters is what we really want.
