Can someone explain me dating nowadays?

Im currently 19(M) and i dont understand it at all back when i was 17 , i was a total piece of shit to women and didn't treat them like humans but then i got so many proposals but my friends told me about my wrongdoings and i decided to fix my shit back , and now im much better as a human but now i have nothing, dms are dry asf and i get friendzoned if i try chat should i return back to being a absolute vile person because being a loverboy is a terrible punishment in this generation
