Why does Andhra Pradesh underperforms so much economically, despite its incredibly conducive geography?
It has a coastline of approximately 1000km, but the only prominent coastal city is Vizag. And the only prominent industrial clusters are also vizag and sricity, which btw is literally on the border of tamil nadu and largely benefitted from Chennai already being a huge industrial cluster. The only commendable investment in the last 10 years post bifurcation is KIA manufacturing facility at Anantapur. Tamilnadu, despite more or less having the same issues, especially regarding rampant casteism has managed to succeed and performs infinitely better in all tangible indicators. Andhra in addition, relatively, has way less problems with water availability barring the region of rayalaseema.2
