What happened to Mumbai I visit Mumbai twice a year after leaving the country 23yrs ago. Trips have always been awesome but the last 2yrs especially this year has been awful. Ridiculously expensive (cheaper in USD but still very expensive) horrible air quality, horrendous traffic(literally chaos) they trying to run u over when u cross the streets, lot more ppl on the streets (mostly men), garbage almost everywhere, rich have gotten nastier, ppl in general have lost humanity and they r just fighting to survive. Does Mumbai have a problem? I'm a hard-core Mumbaikar. But over the last 2-3 years, I get the feeling Mumbai is going to the dogs. The air is getting worse. The traffic jams are longer. Public transport is a nightmare. The cost of living is seriously high. I'm done with this 'Spirit of Mumbai' rubbish as well. Visited Juhu beach after 8 years. So happy to see the food court so clean. Just visited Juhu beach after 8 full years after a random craving to have Tava Pulav. I stay in Navi Mumbai but, last I visited Juhu beach was about 7-8 years back. We never visit if because there is always an impression that it is a dirty place with a very bad crowd and unhygenic waters, traffic snarls and parking scenes.
