Illegal for stores to charge for branded plastic bags I recently shopped at Anna Aluminium in Menaka, Kochi, and was charged ₹5 for a plastic carry bag. I didn’t notice it (the bill) until I reached home, but the bag had the store’s branding on it. (Yes, not checking the bill then and there is completely my fault :() From what I understand, businesses aren’t allowed to charge for plastic covers that display their branding since they serve as advertisements.
