Gukesh is not good at rapid, blitz chess; he's focused all his studies on classical: Carlsen dissects Indian GM's game

“You have the current classical world champion from India, Gukesh. He doesn’t play casual games at all. He just studies his ass off all the time. He’s also not good at rapid chess, not good at blitz, he’s not good at other forms. But he has made all his studies about classical chess. He didn’t even own chess software on his computer before he was like 13. And he was already a grandmaster at that time.” “The Indian guy (Gukesh), on the other hand, from the way he studies,...

Are restaurans allowed to do this or is it a scam??

Today I had gone to a restaurant in KP (a famous Chinese restaurant), and I noticed a couple of unfair practices. First thing, they had already kept a water bottle on the table, which was okay, but that bottle had the restaurant's name printed on it. We asked if we could get a Bislery or Aquafina bottle, but they refused. How would I know if that water is safe to drink? Second thing, we asked for a coldrink bottle, which had an MRP of 20 rs. printed on it,...

    Problems at Ironhill

Using a burner account for anonymity. My fiancee was drinking tonight at Ironhill, and had in the past befriended a fellow who works there, seems to be a manager. I don’t know if I should say his name here or if that’s against the rules. Tonight he followed her to the parking lot, and tried to grope her three times. She kept pushing him away and managed to get away from him. He then kept calling her phone nonstop, until she picked up. He tried to gaslight her and...

Bumping search results off the first page...

This is somewhat tangential to SEO, but I figure that you SEO experts would have the best ideas... I have a unique full name (completely unrelated to my Reddit username), and a Google search of it returns 3-4 hits on the first screen about a lawsuit filed (and subsequently dismissed) against me by my nutjob sister. I'd love to bury those results and am wondering what are good strategies for getting more, higher-ranking results for a search on my name. I'm a pretty average Joe, not likely to win...

BDC stock : good investment ??

Hi, I've got some Blackstone stock (the company, not the secure lending because in france, we can't buy it). Since i bought it, i'have been losing money a lot. So i trie to find some BDC with good "reputation" and good financial reporting (i'm not a specialist). So i found three : \- FS KKR Capital stock : 11.81% of dividend, and 17.8% of growth in one year, that looks like very sexy. But, it's really hard to find a recommandation about this one. \- Maint Street Capital Corp...

As a Hindu, how do you decide what's superstition and what's dharma?

For Muslims and Christians, anything that's not a part of their scriptures, could be dismissed as superstition. But for Hindus with numerous sects and traditions, how does one decide what's part of dharma and what is superstition?

Journey of leaving dharma and finding it again

I grew up not understanding anything about being Hindu. I used to go to temple and hated being there. I was staunchly atheist and had no real guiding principles of life other than loving science. I would learn about world religions in undergrad and a lot of them just never resonated with me. The abrahamic religions seemed to have a God who was a metaphorical kid with a magnifying glass on an anthill. It was also very exclusionary and how could you say to a ton of people, they...
