Those people who have less capital let's say 3-4 lac, they can't hedge their stocks or index investment by selling in options. Options selling are risky but if you have stock of that quantity, you are either earning margins or booking profit, even if your equity investment goes down because of bear market, some of those losses gets covered by margins of option selling.
