Local SEO - Service Business Address - To Add or Not To Add?

Hey, New to SEO, working on my Wife's photography SEO. We, for obvious reasons, don't want to list our address on our GBP and other citations. I've noticed that the best performing photography sites near us all have a weird address, like a vacant lot or an apartment clubhouse. Is that standard practice instead of using your actual address? is that usually done across all citations as well to avoid NAP issues? Thanks
