Irony when one realises Supernatural/Naagin/Daayan genres were better than current pandemic of Bengali show remakes. The period of 2016-2020 was the era when plethora of Supernatural shows used to air on every GEC. With ‘Naagin’, the shows with surreal themes got started about daayans, chudails, brahmarakshas and looking at the current lot of shows, they felt more entertaining and less toxic (even though illogical with shabby VFX). In current scenario, when the most popular channel of India has almost every show re-made straight from Bengoli popular shows, the toxicity and hypocrisy of the story premise seem to have increased.
