Restore data Due to some stupid mistake I changed my external drives partition from apfs to exfat through the Powershell and data on it is not available. Is it possible to get it fully back? Didn’t save a new data on it since then and any software I tried can find around 100gb (movies only) which is about 5% of that I lost (need my books and hi-res music, movies are safe at my accounts) Also, if I turn it back to apfs, it will wipe data fully? 1 0 replies

Is it possible to follow Hinduism whilst finding it difficult to believe in a God? Hello there, It's nice to meet you all. I've recently become really interested in Buddhism, and along my journey have also become somewhat curious about Hinduism too. As a young person I was always fascinated by the Hindu gods and really took a liking to the religion. However, it seems I have a difficult time placing a belief in any God. Whilst I acknowledge their existence to others, there is a remaining feeling in my mind that just can't connect to them. I suppose my question is, within Buddhism... 5 0 replies
14 days in Chennai in March, anything I need to know? Hey everyone! Apologies if this post goes against the rules (I did read them), but I’ll be in Chennai for work in the medical field for two weeks and was hoping to get some tips for a foreign visitor. I’ll be staying at a hotel near my workplace in central Chennai. From what I’ve read online, most places accept credit cards, and my card offers fair exchange rates, so I’d prefer to avoid cash or use as little as possible, just like I do in my place of residence.... 3 0 replies
Do VCs invest in companies doing the same thing? (I will not promote) So I have an investor meeting next week and the venture I’m building is very similar to one of this VCs existing portfolio companies who they just invested in. However, the one we’re building is more defendable, scalable, has more revenue angles and ultimately does a better job of solving the problem at hand than their portfolio company. I have two main concerns: A.) This meeting with the fund is instead an information fishing exercise from them to gain more information on their portfolio competitor. B.) They feed information... 4 6 replies
Thinking about my younger self I'm 25 m, I'm on my bed at 3 AM staring at the ceiling and letting my thoughts consume me. Until one thought absolutely sent me down into a spiral. I saw him, the face of my 10 year old self looking so happy, so proud of cleaning his own room, so proud of his grades, so proud of finishing a doodle on his sketchbook, filled with dreams. If he saw the man that he would be 15 years from now he would be mortified. A man that was... 3 0 replies
Photos Backups for Multiple Family Members I want to back up my Photos library and my wife’s Photos library to external storage, but I don’t know how to ensure hers are backed up without manual intervention. I have a personal Mac to which my original photos are downloaded. I enabled ‘Optimize iPhone Storage’ for my iOS devices. My photos are backed up in multiple ways: - Time Machine (backup of internal SSD) - Carbon Copy Cloner (backup of internal SSD) - Carbon Copy Cloner (backup of `Pictures` directory in which my Photos library is stored)... 1 0 replies
Considering Publicly Building a Stock Technical Analysis Tool I am considering publicly building a stock technical analysis tool. So for example you enter in a stock ticker like ZZFMG, and the tool will list its analysis i.e.: "Moving Average-Bullish crossover occurred as MA50 crossed above MA200 (Golden Cross), indicating an uptrend. MACD-Positive histogram and MACD above the signal line indicate strong bullish momentum. ....." If such a product was built, would it be very useful to you and how much would you be willing to pay in monthly subscription? 2 0 replies

6 and a half years ago, I prayed, "pls no, not today." Breakfast was biscuits from the top shelf because the basement kitchen was flooded and our cook couldn't commute. We had no electricity like the rest of Kerala, and the overhead tank was running dangerously low for the 50 of us in the building. We waded through the water to school with the principal who was also our warden to shift what was left of the lab equipment and CPUs to the library upstairs. I remember the feeble jokes we cracked to lighten the mood. "Watch out for snakes" one... 3 0 replies
Is it a fair to say that Indians face tremendous pressure from family when it comes to marriage? Ok I got into an argument and I wanted to know if my observations were relatively accurate or coming off as racist. I'm from the US. At my University's pre-med program a huge percentage of students were from India. During the time they were in the US, many of them developed relationships with Caucasians. Almost all of them were pressured by family to break off the relationships eventually and marry someone the family approved of. This lead to a lot of heartbreaks and eventually most Caucasian girls just started... 2 7 replies
