While I definitely agree that no language should be forcefully imposed on anyone, the argument in the tweet is slightly flawed. (Politicians being politicians)

A lot of the languages mentioned there are dialects - which are still present and used in the rural heartlands!

1. My father's side of the family - Eastern UP - Bhojpuri

2. My Mother's side - Again a different area of Eastern UP - Awadhi

3. My wife's side - Bundeli

Having said this, yes some of these languages are nearing extinction - not necessarily because of Hindi imposition, but rather due to the dwindling population of native speakers, migration of the newer generation towards the cities, permeance of social media and content - which is generally created in mass languages, and lack of resources/ efforts to preserve the literature and heritage!

That being said - Hyderabad is definitely the best of the lot - people give space and try to use Telugu / English/ Hindi to get the conversation going - rather than being language fanatics!

Hopefully this aspect never changes about this city (fingers crossed)
