I like how Tamil politicians stick to two language policy from beginning without having any support from any other states.
Other states should learn from TN on how to protect and cherish language.

Beliefs should be based on truth and evidence and should be a means to live your life by.

a belief shouldnt be an excuse to flex your dominion over others or to fix some personal hole in your heart.

people returning to paganism or Christianity or whatever their ancestors believed in is not a logical basis.

this shows that such a belief in religion or anything is completely superficial and circumstantial.

a mere tool to help you differentiate you from others and to give you a sense of meaning and belonging.

If that's the reason why you want to believe in then why not make up your own religion?

I am a Muslim and I was born into a Muslim family, but I never understood it's worth untill I carefully studied the religion.

for me it was just yet another excuse to bully others and for a good part that's what I did.

not realising that the atheists or Hindus or other non muslims I was debating with may not have such a pleasant experience with the religion or Muslims which I had.

I also realised that my methods of calling to Islam were completely selfish and twisted.

I only wanted people to become Muslim just so I can feel good.

completely different from the methods of Prophet Muhammad sallalaahu alayhi wassallam.

and so I studied it and rediscovered the reasons of my islam.

now I advocate for gentleness and not petty debates coz that's what the Prophet intended and did.

and only now I consider being a Muslim as not just my identity but also my responsibility.

I do not believe in it just becoz I was born into it. I believe in it becoz it is right religion.

and I also believe that it is the right religion for everyone. and so I am. compelled to share it with everyone.

I do not believe in it just becoz "Mughals had one damn empire" or oh look how powerful Muslims were in Delhi sultanate.

or oh look how we humiliated others.

those pathetic worldly reasons are for Muslims who are ignorant. and this applies to non Muslims as well.

who only believe in Islam just becoz they were born into.

such a belief has no real basis.

One should remember that life is finite and one should remember that our reality is not some fake illusion.

that's probably the only thing everyone agrees upon.

now, it should be your moral responsibility to actually explore the reasons.

and that should be the only reason why you should follow anything.

not becoz you want some meaning in your life or you need a reason to bully others. (not saying thats what you meant)

and yes that would involve researching and studying and most of the times questioning your own beliefs and hopefully coming to terms with them.

have some objective reason to believe in something.

not just becoz you want a bigger idol than your neighbour.

do not repeat the mistakes of northern states and yes I can totally say coz I am in UP right now.

most Muslims dnt know anything about Islam and same is True for Hindus here.

so think about what you believe in and question it.

at the end of the day it's your life, your decision and the consequences that entail it.
