I’m going to get so downvoted for this but…

I think the electorate needs to change, too. It is absurd to me how many people sat out preventing Donald Trump from being president. Sure, you can argue people are disengaged because their concerns / needs aren’t being met, but there are few in that category that aren’t worse off.

Even someone earning 2lpm can afford a foreign vacation a year. Established business owners definitely earn more than that.

You might think employing 10-20 people is not a big deal but it is. Especially educated high earning people.

Also your tax liability really goes down if you own a business. Buying a phone ? Business expense. New car? Business expense. Bought a car last year? Well it's gone down in value today and that further reduces my tax liability.

To top it off this is without going into the unreported income by businesses.

A 100rs earned by a businessman will go a lot further than 100rs earned by a salaried employee, at best 42.74% further.

A businessman making a profit of 5lpm is living the same life as a salaried employee making 7-8lpm pretax.

So in summary yes, even "small scale" business owners are rich
