For me it is political will and no future planning. When was the last time you heard the Punjab Government is trying to promote industries, new growth sectors, building SEZs? Heck even backward states like Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand are having Global business summits attracting different businesses, and FDAs. No real vision for new upcoming industries even the IT sector is the same as it was decades back. Mohali should have been on par with Gurugram and Noida (I know NCR have a great influence on their growth but come on, Mohali can do better than this). Lack of public infrastructure is also the key. They get delayed every single time.

No new economical townships in major cities apart from Tricity. Where as in Haryana they are building Manesar like SEZs in every district. Here, our Focal point industrial areas don't have proper roads.
