I understand its a small town, but it fairly depends on what neighborhood you are moving into. People here very warm and I bet everyone would make you feel home. Also, you may get furnished apartments and groceries you might find it every 500 mtrs. so shouldn't be a problem. Just be prepare for the time city would really get boring AF. Unlike you I didn’t break any signals or anything..just had the misfortune of crossing their check posts!! They insisted on checking all my belongings, I insisted on recording everything on camera, they felt offended and said that I’m blocking their duty!! Anyways wasted 10 mins, while asking random questions, which they weren’t constitutionally required, given no laws were broken and no signs of contraband were found!

I would have brushed it off but guess what, had the same experience thrice more in the same trip. Suffice to say, won’t be travelling to that state ever on my car again!

The government is trying to rebalance taxation so that the freebies and loopholes that businesses get are closed up, and taxation gets more from corporates, without hurting the cost of doing business in the long term.

This here is an example I can vouch for: many of my friends who own MSMEs change cars like clothes. This here was the reason why: they would buy the cars in their company's name, get benefits of depreciation on their company's balance sheet (and therefore tax savings), and then turn around and sell the car in 2-3 years, and get a new one. Net-net they don't lose anything at all.
