Edit: But also keep your distance. You dont want them coming after you or beating you up. I would shout things like "Hey! What are you doing!?" "Call the police! Call the police!", "They are harassing these girls!" etc. (In your local language). Make a scene. But keep physical distance.

I spent my Inter 1st year in that hellhole. I ended up jumping over the boundary wall and running away. I only came back to write my final exams and to get the hell out of that place. They made us pay 10,000 rupees just to cancel my admission, saying that if I had studied there for two years, I could have avoided having too pay that amount as it a discount for people that study there for Inter 1st year and 2nd year. Otherwise, I had to pay up and get my TC (Transfer Certificate).

Getting beaten up every day was part of our daily routine, especially since I was placed in the lowest section due to my terrible marks on the section allotment test. We were treated like cattle. My section was full of teenagers who desperately wanted to be rowdies, a mix of Marathi and Telugu guys.

Every day, either the lecturers or the Junior Lecturers (JLs) would come and take out their frustrations on us. One day, I was hit repeatedly, so badly that even some of the students had to intervene and stop the lecturer.

That place pushed me into deep depression and suicidal thoughts. I couldn't care less about the JEE exams, but the constant misery was slowly driving me insane.

At least I can say I made some memories worth remembering during my time in the hostel. as it was a boys' hostel, with guys from different states. so we had our fairshare of bakchodi and laundapana. It helped me become more self-reliant and thick-skinned, after all the slaps and insults I faced from the teachers over there.

I couldn't fathom how anyone would live like this and not go at least a little bit insane. Despite all these, there were some folks in the topper batches who didn't mind the banality, and strictness. We'd get an outing of 1 day for every 3 months, and these guys would come back within half day even on that day. That's when I realized, some people don't mind all this, and are really dedicated to cracking these exams, more than anything. I think these colleges are apt for those type of people only, I am not in touch with those folks, but I am sure they must be really successful now, at least in terms of profession.

Every fucking thing that the orange moron has hinted at will harm or kill people. His concepts of economic plans will do more than raise a few prices, it will result in making America “great” again in the sense of another Great Depression.

These ppl (and their families) are not yr friends. And most ppl won't understand reasons which made you hide yr caste. Distance yrself from them (cite busy-ness and drop plans at the 11th hour often) and hope you can disentangle yrself fr them soon and that later you never come across them again. Prepare a good backstory if in distant future, you come across any of them again when yr caste is known to most ppl around you. And yes, clean up yr social media accounts if you want to openly explore yr roots. I know it all sounds sneaky but survival comes before honesty in my book. There is a good chance that there can be a backlash if you disclose yr caste. I have heard horror stories.

Do you have viable opportunities abroad? Go for it if yes. BTW racism is rampant in the world. Mentally prepare yourself and know yr surroundings b4 diving into it. Hope it turns out well for you, OP 🫂
