I have been trading for last 2 years and recently turned consistently profitable so I can say that, every thing is profitable.  But what is best your you is the real question. 


Intraday needs a lot of contant attention, looking at the charts constantly for hours before you can have a good entry. And constant mental resilience to follow your rules. I tried and found it was not for me. So I switched to 1 hour charts. I am much more rule based now, and only after moving to 1 hour charts i became consistently profitable. 


But it all depends on your mentality, theoretically what your thinking are correct, but practically if it doesn't not suit you, it only will make your portfolio bleed. 


Also, intraday comes under speculation buisness and swing trading, assuming in cash, comes under capital gain taxes. So you won't be able to offset losses from both category.
