I have also experienced the same; In east bangalore at least. Though I can't change the situation what I do from my side at least is wherever and whenever I am outside I will start the conversation in Kannada. If the person doesn't know my language then I will switch to Hindi/English.

I think as localities we should not feel inferior and start english. I see many kannadigas use english in malls and high end restaurants. I really don't care I just start in kannada. If we don't speak our language who will?

Even though I’ve stayed in Bangalore a long time and understand Kannada very well, just can’t speak it fluently. But wherever possible I make it a point to start the conversation in Kannada even if the grammar is not correct and inevitably some words of my native language come in.

As to why I can’t speak it fluently, I guess I just don’t have a flair for languages and since I moved here in my teens, I was past the age where I picked it up naturally. Plus grew up in Indiranagar😜

There's four levels that I've found to this, and you're only starting with the first level.

The first level is just understanding what the news events are. I really like the forex factory calendar for beginners because it has good descriptions and links to the report. By understanding the reports you get an idea of which ones are more impactful.

Next there's the market expectations. A report that comes out in line doesn't have as much of an impact compared to one that surprises. You have to sort out how many people will trade on that new information.

Next there's seasonality to it. There are cycles for the week, month, quarter, and year. Yes even the week. Less happens on Mondays. Lots of big moves happen on Wednesdays. People try to end early on Fridays. The bigger reports are at the start of the month.

But then there's the larger economic narrative. Investors will pay more attention to certain reports that are giving us info on the most unknown parts of the economy. For a while we were really watching those pmi reports for signs of a slowdown. Now I expect we'll be really focused on the inflation reports because there's worries about a resurgence in inflation.

Unfortunately there's no single place you can go to learn this stuff. Some day I'd like to write a book on it. But a lot of it just has to be gained from experience. Read the economic reports. Read reports from major analysis. Follow narratives on news media. After a few years you get a feel for the ebb and flow. I try to foster more of this discussion on the discord listed on the futures trading subreddit.

This is a very old photo of Vyas Park, which was previously a pond, located near Phuleraav Ki Ghati. I’m not sure exactly how old the picture is, but my grandfather used to share stories about how Vyas Park was built over a pond that was associated with many ghost stories. Later, the government covered the pond, and it was converted into a park.
