try in Terminal: (disk partition is based on your example photo only, use correct device number and partition 2)

diskutil list (to discover the device and partition)

sudo mkdir /Volumes/External_Drive

sudo diskutil mount readOnly -mountPoint /Volumes/External_Drive /dev/disk4s2

The drive will not show up in Finder, but will show up (hopefully) in /Volumes/External_Drive

you can list and copy files using Terminal commands ls and cp

(cp -R will copy recursively, so typing cp -R /Volumes/External_Drive/Photos/MyDog ~/Desktop/ will copy the entire folder MyDog and ALL it's contents to your Desktop).

change folders using the command cd

(cd .. will go back up one folder)
