Chandigarh metro needs to be looked for city plus adjoining areas - baddi / Panchkula / Mohali / Dera bassi / Fatehgarh sahib / Kharar etc.

It is also true that chandigarh administration/ officers are against metro due to their own reasons. It is standard public transport policy that once population crosses 1mn planning should start and by 2mn population it should be operational. When combined with adjoining areas 2mn is easily reached rather crossed.

The proposed plan which was published in newspapers few months back was design to fail metro and not to build it.

I will agree that public transport policy of city is well below par. Public bus count and routes need to be revised.

Till intent is not there frivolous excuses can be made / written. It is 2025 and all metrics comply with metro system if intent is there.
