Zoho is purely team based one, if manager is good in tech and forward thinking, their team will thrive well. But at the end of the day, zoho pays better than service companies and less than other product companies (funded by VCs) and lot of works going on in terms of AI, Deep Tech and Etc.

Today CEO, Sridhar stepped down from his role and taken the Chief Scientist role to make better direction of Zoho with AI in mind. Let’s see.

Nobody is paying for Netflix, they are sold as part of internet plans. However there is far less competition, but the content is also garbage, specially in India, most viewers who have bought the plans are the ones who want to watch Hollywood content. In India, purchase power of middleclass is reducing. If TRAI passes a rule to separate OTT content from the internet plans, every subscription service's subscriptions will be down by more than 50%.

When I was at my earlier organisation, my manager introduced us to someone from a different team to us. He apparently had some 30+ buildings (not flats) in Bengaluru in his & family’s name and some 10+ commercial properties as well on top of that. Manager said “if you ever wanted to look at someone whose net worth is hundreds of crores in real life, take a look at him”. He was smiling all along and was still working as a software engineer. When someone asked how that was possible, he said something like “resource utilisation and right background checks”. He found a process where the risk associated would be as low as possible while he can continue to invest : He basically knew Bank Managers who would readily give him loans with which he would purchase vetted properties. He was stressing on the importance of having the land or property litigation free. He would then get rents from it or would begin construction immediately. It was an eye opener for us as we were all freshers.

I worked at Zoho a few years ago. Based on my experience and some of my friend's experience, yes not much growth opportunities compared to other product based companies. Technologies that they use are built in-house and their processes sucks so you won't get much exposure or opportunities and people stagnate after few years and find it difficult to switch companies
