Nope. India's per capita income is around 2,400 dollars. To be a high income country or a developed country, it needs 12,000 dollars per person annually. And don't go by PPP (purchasing power parity) since it only shows how cheap things are (bang for your buck), compared to global standards but the reason why things are cheap is because labour isn't respected. Hence, services are cheap as workers work for peanuts. When labour is respected & given a fair wage, PPP per capita & GDP per capita would be similar. PPP per capita only shows how a privileged person's life will be, in a poor country.

Btw, USA has a GDP per capita of 50,000 dollars. So just imagine the disparity in wealth. India's GDP per capita is comparable to African nations.
