It's difficult but sometimes talking to a company and figuring out their problem and pitching a solution and asking for a letter of intent can help.

But the real times I've seen this work the most effective is someone that has a long experience working for the company or industry with a lot of connections pitches the idea to the top executives and get their greenlight and can bypass the bureaucracy. Sometimes with their network they can get letter of intent and upfront down payment to help their traction to fundraise. This is also why VCs say the team is important. They can't judge how hard you can work or endure hardships, but they can see your past history and reputation.

I wouldn't go on a dumb spending spree. It would 100% feel hollow and meaningless after a while. If the money gives you anything valuable is TIME.

You can survive for a long long time off of 75K while you figure out something else to do with your life and take your sweet time to learn that, which is a goddamn privilege if you ask me. You can also pay for therapy which not everyone can afford.
