Focus on neutralizing our existing MTI(mother tongue influence) instead of striving to speak in proper British accent.
1. Indian english has retroflex sounds for t and d where tongue is curled back to the hard palate in the mouth whereas native speakers pronounce it by touching the alveolar ridge behind the upper teeth. This also applies for L sound esp if youre south indian.
2. Another obvious difference is how r is silent when a word ends in r, theres no rolling of tongue like american accent.
3. Pay attention to pronouncing diphthongs- sound produced by combining two vowels which is hardly ever used in Indian accent for the same words.
**eɪ**: As in "may", "pay", "day"
**əʊ**: As in "no", "so"
**aʊ:** As in "how", now", "loud"

Practise using mirroring technique- listen to videos, pause and repeat after them in the same accent. Read sentences out loud and if necessary record your own voice and listen to it so you can easily spot mistakes and correct yourself

Having said that English speakers do understand our normal Indian accent if you speak slowly and clearly but the challenging part is for us to understand their accent cos regular people you interact with wont necessarily speak in Queens English theres a wide variety of dialects even within the UK. Try watching reality shows like Bigg brother etc where youre exposed to different accents from real people along with movies and web series.
