Is Zoho overrated compared to other product/service-based companies? What's your take?what are some other good product-based companies where engineers (in any field) can explore meaningful work and career growth
Zoho is a really good company and I don't think it's overrated. It has a very steep learning curve provided that you get mapped to a tech savvy team, else you're just a robot ticking the tasks assigned and not being proactive.
The CEO of Zoho, Sridhar Vembu is a very insightful and a brilliant person and not the CEO who would push you to work past your shift. You need to read some of his interviews against lay offs. -
In 28 years, the cost of living in India will overtake the cost of living in the US.
As someone living in US from the last 6 years let me burst your bubble
Cost of owning a decent 2 bed in a city that has tech jobs is easily more than 3500$. If you try to own a home the mortgage would come around 5000-6000$ easily. It’s impossible to buy a home with a single income. The schools maybe free but to get into a good school you need to be in a good area that would add to your expenses again. Forget about the bullshit inflation percentages that never tell the whole story. The cost of goods increased 2-4x in the last 4 years. My grocery bill which used to be around 200-300$ is easily more than 600$ right now. Last week I bought dozen eggs for 8$ dude and cost of eating or ordering out for 2 ppl is roughly 40$. On top of all of this you’ll have to compete with millions of Indians moving here plus the racism and complications of visas are cherry on the top. Nobody is gonna roll out a red carpet for you here when you are moving . Instead ppl will tell you to go back to your home to your face. You will ALWAYS be a temporary here. -

Purandar international airport protests
The govt should call their bluff and go full scorched earth.
They can do this by
First, cancel every infrastructure project that was to be constructed to support the new airport. Re align the pune ring road project which was supposed to connect the airport with the city. Make sure the people of the village take a 10 km detour if they want to connect to the nearest highway.
Second, find an alternative site and make sure to offer them 50% of extra of what the villagers from previous site were offered in an all or nothing deal.

Everyday Random Schizophrenia Rant
I am a bipolar type 2 patient. I can understand a bit of what you are going through. I suggest you reach out to someone or you find someone who you trust and can help you out when u need it the most. A parent, cousin, friend anyone. Being alone our minds can play weird tricks on us.
I hope your treatment is going well. Don't skip that.
Hang in there bro, I know there will be tough times, but there will be good times too. -

The only reason for climate change and pollution is modern way of life. Now who would say a word against modern lifestyle or about reversing it. -

2025 will likely be another brutal year of failed startups, data suggests [i will not promote]
Honestly, I think the focus on big, flashy startups and their dramatic failures can overshadow the quieter, sustainable wins. In my experience, even in design, we often romanticize the "big break" instead of valuing steady growth. Not every logo needs to be for a unicorn—sometimes designing for a niche brand with a loyal audience is just as fulfilling. Same with startups, right?
I'm building a small bootstrapped logo design tool, Typogram.
A lean micro saas like us is not flashy but a humble business hitting consistent MRR can feel like the ultimate "win." Those splashy VC stories grab attention, but there’s so much beauty in building something meaningful, even if it isn’t headline-worthy. -
